Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Real Estate Photography Important?

Real Estate Photography is crucial as it creates the first impression of a property for potential buyers. High-quality images not only attract attention but also showcase the property's features, increasing the likelihood of a successful sale.

In addition having quality photos for your listing is part of selling you as the Real Estate Agent.

What is your shooting method?

In Real Estate Photography, there are two main approaches - HDR and Flash-Ambient (aka Flambient).  While I use both depending on the circumstances, the Flambient method is my main approach.  I believe that hand blending a flash shot with an ambient shot produces the most natural and color accurate images.

How do I book an appointment?

The booking form is integrated into this site on the Book Online page.  There, you can see and select the packages offered and book your appointment from available dates and times.  Payment is required and can be paid for with a credit or debit card when photos are delivered.

How many pictures do I need?

According to Zillow data, 22-27 photos is the ideal range of photos for real estate.  We want to give an overview of the property and show off the best features, but the listing photographs do not need to document every nook and cranny of the property, especially those that may not have a positive impact on potential buyers.

Who does your editing?

Rather than outsourcing overseas, I have chosen to do all of my own editing.  I believe that by editing the photos myself, I can ensure the best quality product for my clients and yours.

How do I prepare for the shoot?

To ensure the best results, follow this Property Prep List.  Start by decluttering and cleaning the space. Remove personal items, tidy up each room, and enhance curb appeal. Turn on all lights and open curtains to maximize natural light. Additionally, consider minor repairs or touch-ups to present the property in its best light.

How are the photos delivered?

Once the editing is complete, you will receive an email to download the media files.  You can download them at different resolutions as needed for MLS and social media.

Do I own the photos?

Once the photography service is complete and payment is received, you will own the rights to the photos for the purpose of selling the property. However, Jen Holmes Photography retains the copyright, meaning the images cannot be resold or used for commercial purposes without permission.
